AI and ML Improving Soil in Permaculture and Regenerative Practices
Check out this peer-reviewed academic journal article states that with the increase of monoculture for food and fiber to meet demand comes adverse effects on natural resources and sustainable food production, with the greatest impact noted on developing countries and rural regions of the world. This paper takes the angle that AI and ML can be used alongside permaculture and regenerative agricultural practices and can improve soil health and conservation efforts.

This article explains that while regenerative practices are collectively described as, "semi-closed holistic systems approach designed to reduce or eliminate dependence on external inputs (e.g., chemicals) which restores and maintains natural systems (e.g., soil quality, biodiversity, and ecosystem services). They also suggest that digital agricultural tools can help with sustainability and food security. This is relevant to the intersection of technology and permaculture.
